Content -Sync Issues
« on: September 02, 2015, 09:18:41 AM »
Hey I'm currently having some issues with getting content to sync on our panels.

1. Content needs to play a specific file at the same time on all LFD's
2. After playing the "synced" file they should play their own playlist, however panels 1 and 2 should be in sync and 4 and 5 be in their own sync

Specs:
• 5 x DB40D in a 1x5 Configuration running on SOC S2
• Server: MagicInfo Server v3.1
• MagicInfo experience: Beginner

I have tried clustering them into a Video Wall, however:
• The content gets pixelated and looks ghastly.
• Tried cutting the video into individual portions for each screen. Content plays in HD however doesn't sync.

I have tried sending to each individual screen:
• Created playlist with the option Content Sync ticked
• Delayed deployment time on all playlist to the same time
• Individual video clips are the same duration.

Time Zones on all players are set to the same Zone, How will I know if the panels are seeing the exact same time?
Not being able to sync, it this a limitation on the SOC and I will need a Setback Box?

You should have two different device groups setup on the server. That will separate 1-2 from 4-5. You should be able to get the sync going just by setting up your schedule and programming correctly (using time to sync content). You should have two separate schedules. Just make sure the content you want to sync is set to run at the same time in the schedules. See what happens. The server should be adjusting the time daily on the devices. Hopefully everything will sync up great.

I saw your post and I was wondering if you were able to solve your problems.
I had a similar issue with a video wall of 1 x 4 portrait screens.

My sync problems turned out to be that I missed 2 drop downs that tell the screens to stay in sync.
One is in Scheduling and the other I believe was in playlisting.
