Remote control is not connecting
« on: June 27, 2016, 10:07:54 AM »
Hi,
I have just finished to install my MagicInfo Server V4.0 Build NA-MIIPS - 4000.1
When trying my screens in my LAN, everything was find, now the screens are in my shops, everything is running, screens are connecting to the server and downloading the contents, but from my server I can see the screens and their status but the remote control is not working, I cannot manage the screens from the RMServer, when I test this in my LAN it was working. Maybe any port to open or to forward, but witch one? I have already open ports 5900 and 5901 (VNC ports) but same results.
Please help, thank you.
Regards

Hey EricS,

Very odd indeed, since it was working in the LAN we know that the entire setup is correct, leaving just the new connection/ location as a possible issue.  :(
Would it be possible to remove the entire firewall for a shot while, just to see if remote works when nothing is blocked. if so we know where to look. if it still doesn't work there must be a completely different issue.  :-\

Not easy to try it without firewall, I have a Sonicwall and all traffic from both fibre and sat is going to it.
I have no problems uploading contents and there is something strange:
I can capture the screen from the device and using the quick control button I can also shutdown or reboot the device.
Next time I go to the shop I will try to change the IP and put one with the same range of the server.
