Open Source - Digital Signage
« on: July 20, 2016, 03:00:47 PM »
Hello,

I am doing a Use Case Analysis according to Digital Signage. I have a Samsung (Signage) DM32E Smart Tv with the MagiInfo Player included.
I was looking at the Open Source Software Xibo which is pretty good so far. But I was wondering if there is possibility to run a CMS to use the included MagicInfo (Signage Player) from Samsung to a WebBased Version just pointing to a URL or so on.

I couldn't find any Information on the MagicInfo Server if it is free whenever you buy a Digital Signage Player etc.?
I hope somebody can assist me and answer my Question?

Or can provide me some other Solution of OpenSource Digital Signage where you don't have to install a media player?

Thank you very  much and I apologize for my Englisch,

Tim

Hi lad sorry for the late reply. MagicInfo itself is free, you have to buy a license for every screen ypu may want to connect.
I ws using Xibo for several years and it is working fine and it covers many features of Magicingo but of course the App
is not as professional as MagicInfo.
In Xibo you need a Windows player connected to any TV that needs OS Licenses and of course you hide the player
or better said computer somewhere.
