Unable to get server to connect to client screens

Hi,

We have a functioning server which detects the MagicInfo player installed on a test machine after configuring server settings. However we have two Samsung 48DCE screens which the server will not detect.

It seems we should be setting the server settings on the screen itself, according to the manual, under Menu > Network > Server Network Settings. However on neither of our screens does this setting show up.

Am I missing something?

Hey Schooltechie,

As far as I know the DC-series does not support MagicInfo server, just the local player

The newest version (released August) does support the server but with limited features. Samsung have had other reports of issues with the newest models and my support request has been escalated to HQ in regards to this.

Just checked on our new DC40, just arrive this week and I thought about this post again   :P
The option is in there, just like the manual says...
All I can think of is updating the Firmware, maybe you happen to just have a faulty firmware level???

You can check your FW version under [Menu] -> [Support] -> [Contact Samsung]

The latest version is 1019.2

I can provide you with the firmware for manual update if needed

Hi,

We got in contact with Samsung and indeed there was a faulty firmware and even an update didn't fix it. In the end they sent us a non-general release firmware which fixed the issue. Took some time to get to this point though!
