Periodic publushing
« on: June 10, 2010, 11:36:54 AM »
I use the 2507.0 french version.
In the schedule screen, the "periodic" option does not work : I can select "daily", BUT I can't change the "End Date".(Surely a bug of this version...)
So, I would like to add "manualy" (with notepad) the option inside the scl file.

Is there someone who can send me the right tag to insert ?
(something like <periodicity>daily</periodicity> I suppose....)

Thanks

I found the answer (installing eng. version which has no bug for periodic publishing and editing the SScheduler.scl file)

There is no tag ! ! !

The schedule section is simply copied the number of times you have days....
Waouh ! Great programming !

I have 15 screens per day, for the next 30 days....
My scl file will contain not less than 450 schedule sections !.....

Chris.

Hi iutmlv,

thanks for letting us know about this, there are numerous posts regarding the scheduler contained within Magicinfo Pro on here. Do you think this is the reason the schedule becomes so bloated when adding a number of different screens to a few weeks worth of daily schedules?

Hi EricL

what is sure (I tested it) is :
when the "periodic" option is selected, MaginInfo creates on D: a scl file containing as much <schedule> tag as days. (even if the published screen is the same every day !...)
Knowing that each schedule section is more or less 15 lines long...
The file size increases rapidly...

I admit that this type of programming is simple and efficient, but I think that it would have been even better using a specific <periodic> tag ...
