Need to get Powerpoint 2007 files to work with MagicInfo pro.

Currently I'm running,
1 - server (windows xp) magicinfo pro verison 2503.0
 4 - 320MXn with client 2503.0
 4 - 320MXn-2 with client 3000.1
 1 - 320MXn-2 with client 3001.0

What Versions do I need to use Office 2007 files?
Also, noticed that I have different firmware version on the monitors.
Do these all need to be updated also?

Thanks

Hi

if you install the power-point viewer on your clients you should be able to use 2007 ppts.

From Microsoft download page here- http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=CB9BF144-1076-4615-9951-294EEB832823&displaylang=en

"     This download works with presentations created in the following Microsoft Office programs:
          o Microsoft PowerPoint 2010
          o Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007
          o Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003
          o Microsoft PowerPoint 2002
          o Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
          o Microsoft PowerPoint 97

"

Try installing on one screen and see how it goes-don't forget to commit the changed using EWF if it works ok..

Yes, I will definitely need the 2007 viewer on the clients.
It looks like I need to update the magicInfo server and maybe the clients also. The version of magic info that I?m currently using (2503) will not register any office 2007 files in the library.  I think upgrading the server to 2507 will take care of this.  I?m guessing I need to update magicInfo client to at 2507 or better too.

Has there been any success with this?

I'm also trying to publish Power Point 2007 files, though MagicInfo Pro server will not recognize Office 2007 files to import (.pptx, .ppsx, .docx, .xlsx)

I have patched the MagicInfo server to version 2509b -- still no luck.  Is there any solution for this?

Haven't had time to test, but I've installed version 2507.0 on a pc and can register files such as .xlsx, .docx and pptx.  Can anyone else, add some insight?

I didn't know that 2509b existed.  Man, I wish there were some kind of release notes and hot fix notification process!

If you install the Office 2007 in the system where you have already installed the MagicInfo Pro server, it may not detect the Office 2007 files.
So, you should have office 2007 in system and then install the MagicInfo Pro.
Your problem might be resolved by re-installing the MagicInfo pro srever.
Try and let us know.

samazaz - this absolutely did the trick (I also received a reply from the Samsung support, stating the same thing).

I installed Office 2007 on the MagicInfo Pro server, and MagicInfo Pro was able to detect Office 2007 files (I did need to reboot after installing Office 2007, I did not need to re-install MagicInfo Pro -- your mileage may vary).

Thank you for the replys, everyone.
