How to schedule restart in XPe?
« on: November 01, 2010, 01:14:11 PM »
Since XP embedded uses Minlogon instead of Winlogon there is no shutdown.exe Is there a way to schedule system restart through windows scheduled task? I've tried some utils but they didn't work.

Hi, you can use MDC to start/shutdown your internal PC or use a tool like shutdown.exe (download this and put in C:\windows\system32), see if this other post (http://www.signagehelp.com/magic/index.php/topic,84.0.html) can help you.

Regards

You can copy the shutdown.exe file from a standard XP Professional OS. It is a good idea to have a Windows scheduled task to reboot the Samsung Screens once in a while as there are leakages and issues with Windows so many times. This will clear your memory and start fresh.
