Is there MDC protocol difference?
« on: November 13, 2010, 10:24:20 AM »
We have one video wall, 3x3, which consists of 8 460UXn displays and one 460CX with SBB. I want to connect all these displays with RS232 and use MDC software to control them but don't know if there is any MDC protocol difference. In other words, is it possible to connect 460UXn and 460CX via RS232 and control them in that way?

Well, yes there is. Samsung don't make it easy though. There are different MDC software for different screens I am afraid. You need to download the appropriate one (I don't really know what yours should be). So I'd suggest that you download these from www.samsunglfd.com or that ftp site which is in the UK: http://92.45.120.45

I've downloaded RS232 reference manuals for these models, compared hex code of different commands and there seems to be now difference in that manner. I don't know what else could be different.
