mpg file fails to load to library
« on: March 31, 2011, 05:22:35 PM »
Im trying to load a mpg file up to the library to play on the screen but it keeps saying failed,  I looked at the manual it says it supports mpeg-1 and 2 and wmv files,    the mpg is a mpeg-2.   any help on this?

What is the version of MIP are you using? May be video codecs issue.
Try to install latest MIP + k-lite video codecs.

well i found the k-lite full and installed it on the TV,  just did the defaults and i seen that it say mpg and the mpeg 2 file codec install , but i tried again to upload the move to the library and it fails again.  do i als need to install this on the server side too?  how does the magicinfo know that the codecs are on the client and reject them?

it should be installed on server, MIP server is reading seom META info from video files using codecs.

This is all about codecs. DSSC is correct. I use K-Lite Mega pack the latest version. It works perfect for me.
