Office Viewer
« on: November 24, 2009, 07:17:49 PM »
We are trying to run a Powerpoint presentation on the television.

Apparently I am supposed to have the Office Viewer on the Client.

I am not sure where the office viewer is and what to do if it is not in place.

Can someone help me?

Thanks,

-Brian

Hi Brian

these are what you need-just download and install the viewer/s you think you will need.

***Very important***

Remember to commit the changes made using the EWF function of the screen or the new installations will disappear when you reboot!

Thank you very much!

Does the viewer go on the television? Or on my computer?

Ok. I figured it out.

But it would make sense to me these viewers were installed already...

Brian, the problem is that when PPT viewer is installed, you will need to agree to the use it by clicking on the license button. Only the people that use PPT viewer can do that, as it is a Microsoft piece of software. The same is for CODECS or Adobe Flash and so forth.

Thanks.

I have it running now, but the powerpoint does not fit in the office window on the display. Is there anything I can do to resize it and make it fit?

Brian, I don't understand how this can be? The PPT Viewer will show the whole PPT file - doesn't this happen with yours? Can you post a snap shot or a screen dump so that I can see and udnerstand how you do it?

Hi Bill,

I did get it running. There seems to be an interesting "quirk". The first time I tried to get any new addition or software running, there was some kind of problem. When I shut down the software and restarted, it was fine.

I dont get it.

Anyways - its working now.

and btw, if you always get this annoying "license agreement" from powerpoint viewer, you have to go to regedit :

and follow those steps :

http://beqiraj.com/office/2007/tipps/eula/index.asp

you have to rightclick on the 11.0/12.0 in the path described above , and then set "users" to "full access". then this annoying license_agreement never come again.

we had this while we publish the ppt files on the screens and all the time this message came up. quite annoying ;)
