Title: Problems with PPT/PPS loop
Post by: vizacon on August 29, 2013, 05:15:04 PM
Hello,
we have a project where we have a MagicInfo Server and several Samsung 320MXN-3.
We want to playback a PPT with 4 slides in a loop.
In PPT we setup to begin to playback the powerpoint in a loop till the escape button is hi..
If we test that ppt alone on the pc, everything works fine, and the ppt loops.
If we upload that ppt in Magicinfo-Server in the scheduler and say that the ppt should be played back for the whole day for example, the ppt stops at the end with a black screen and it says, press escape to end that ppt.
Why is it not beginning with the first slide?

If we set up the ppt with the MagicInfoAuthor and say to playback the ppt in a loop, it works with some small but important insufficiency.
After the last slide we have half a second black before it Begins again.
At the first slide we see the mouse pointer. If we have the second slide after 12 seconds, the mouse pointer is gone till the ppt starts again.
We use MagicInfo Server version MagicInfo Premium Server V2.0 Build NA-MIIPS-2000.1 and the Player V2.0 2001.3.
Powerpoint Viewer is 14.0.4763.1000.
Any hints or suggestions to solve that problem?
Greetings
Marco

Marco
in the MI Player is a setting to hide the mouse pointer, this should solve at least one problem.

Regarding PowerPoint Viewer, I'm always using PowerPoint viewer 2007 in english whitout any issue.

Cheers,

Hello
I've the same problem with the mouse pointer.
I've tried it with powerpoint viewer 2007 (SP3) and viewer 2010 (sp2).
But the mouse pointer is always visible..
(The MI Player setting is deactivated)
Do you found a solution?

Regards

to hide the mouse pointer, you can download a blank cursor from anywhere (a .cur file) and in the mouse properties in windows control panel, you will choose that. or you could use a single pixel mouse cursor so you can kind of see without having an obvious arrow

Also, make sure you install Powerpoint Viewer 2010 AND the Powerpoint Viewer 2010 SP1.
The SP1 fixes an issue with looping.
Not sure if related to this post but I have been having an issue with Powerpoint opening in "window mode" instead of fullscreen.
You have to go into the registry and give powerpoint the /f (fullscreen mode)
see here: http://superuser.com/questions/604367/start-power-point-viewer-in-full-screen-kiosk-mode
make sure to run EWF manager to commit the changes.
