I have a client that would like to be able to have guests laptops "plugged in" to multiple displays at the same time. All the the displays are currently setup on a MagicInfo 8 server and I believe the displays have S6 players in them.

My question is, what is the easiest way to accomplish this?

Is it as simple as getting and HDMI encoder and plugging that into the local network, or will it need to be more involved than that?

As I understand your client wishes to connect one laptop to multiple signage screens.
If so then you need indeed a broadcast solution and use the stream to push to the screens.

It is possible to automatically switch from source Magicinfo to HDMI when connected.
This can be found in the menu of the screen under Auto source switching.
But this is only happening on one screen.

Perhaps it would be wise to get in contact with a Samsung distributor to see what the possibilities are.

S3 screens and up in premium mode can handle Multicast streams. In this case you can use and HDMI to IP encoder capable of multicast streaming.

In Magic Info go to Content->New-> Streaming and add a multicast ip and port you set up in the streamer.
This is the format   udp://239.x.x.x:8000 or rtp://239.x.x.x:8000
8000 is the port, it is tested and it works.

Then go to schedule and publish just created streaming content. If screens have some content, you can modify current schedule and add additional Ad channel for streaming.
