After update my MagicInfo server from version 7 to MagicINFO 8 Server 20.1010.7 when i login to web panel and go into devices i receive communication SQL error was encountered and none of the earlier TV are visible.
Also there is no possibility to approve new devices.

Are you sure there is no difference between the working and new images besides the size?
Can you track with the inspector (in chrome) what is then blocking the upload? Perhaps you can also find more info in the log files.

Yes, you should be able to get I-Player running on any windows machine (I have it running on my Windows Home Lenovo Laptop). I do notice I-Player has some trouble starting up after that it can run smoothly.

When using the older Windows version I also experienced older version of I-Player will work better.

I hope this will give you some trust again in using MagicINFO.

I have a small MagicInfo project and looking to reutilize a few displays with an existing server.  I don't have the budget to buy Samsung displays so I was hoping to reutilize some existing displays, download and install MagicInfo iPlayer 6 on an external device, connect via HDMI and good to go.

So, I started by testing the iPlayer on a VM with Win10 1909 Enterprise but had some weird behaviors with the iPlayer as it would constantly crash.
I then tried a AKLWY Mini PC Stick Pocket PC with Win10Pro, but I couldn't get the iPlayer to even start on the Win10Pro. 
I lastly realized that the display I was going to use had a Win7 Embedded and got the iPlayer to install and run, but the MPListener/MPEventReceiver constantly crash, and the fact that it comes with IE6 really makes me think the Win7 Embedded is a bad idea.

Can I NOT use iPlayer on a not Samsung Windows computer? What am I missing?

I am a new owner for 3 QM55R Samsung displays trying to setup magicinfo server. I have been contact with the magicinfo support but they were unable to solve my problem.

The case I am trying to solve is that I have installed the server on my PC located at my home with MSSQL database and connected the screens (located in my office and in a different network) with the server's IP (which is a static IP). I have approve the screens and I am able to control them but when I deploy the content and schedules, the screens cannot download and it hangs. I have update the screen's firmware, I have changed the server's config file (ontentApproval.enable = false) as I was pointed by the support but nothing seems to fix the download problem. At start, when I had the server and the screens under the same network everything worked fine but when I moved the screens to the place that they should be (office - an other network) that problem occurred. I am not sure if you could help me out with this kind of problems but I gave it a try as I am trying to fix that for many days and I have lost time and money (for screens not playing as they should).
