Hi David, you can download the SFI image for your 460DXn from the Samsung LFD web site. I will upload it to the Mediafire FTP site as well. Do you know how to reflash?

Bill,

Thanks!  For whatever reason, my Business Partner account hasn't yet been approved, so I wonder if I'm only able to view a limited listing of OS/Software items in the samsunglfd Download Center.

I have a thumb drive (is 1GB big enough?) that I will convert into a bootable drive.  However, other than that, I'm not 100% on the process.  Your notes in the README file on MediaFire site:

Quote
1) Turn the monitor OFF
2) At the 3 USB ports at the back, please insert aUSB Keyboard, USB mouse
and a bootable USB stick
3) Turn monitor ON and press DEL while is booting up
4) Enter BIOS and select USB as the Boot device
5) Reboot the monitor
6) At C prompt, please type: C:\>SFIM /r:1 4046UXNWW.SFI

explain the physical steps of reimaging.  However, I'm not sure what exactly needs to be on the thumb drive other than the image.  I'd be grateful if you could expand on that.

Many thanks,
David

OK, here it goes. There are few steps that you need to do:

1) Get a USB memory stick that is 2GB (you can do 1GB as well)
2) Download the HP utility from the Mediafire site - I have posted it up there
3) Install it to your PC
4) Download the DOS files that are on the same Mediafire site and store the files in a directory
4) Insert it to your PC or laptop - whatever you use
5) Create a DOS bootable through the HP utility and DOS files
6) Copy the filename.sfi to your USB stick
7) Copy the Samsung sfim2_64.exe file to your USB stick
8) Insert keyboard to the screen
9) Insert the Bootable USB stick to your screen
10) R) 1eboot your screen and press either Del or F2 (some products have different BIOS access key)
11) Select the Bootable drive to be your USB stick
12) Then at C:\> prompt type the following

C:\>sfim2_64 /r:1 filename.sfi

And that's it!

Tell me if that works for you.

If you call 1-800-SAMSUNG (US Based) they can send you what you need. They are very helpful in this regard.

Chris,

Email SamsungLFD customer service on this page http://www.samsunglfd.com/support/contactUsWriteForm.do.  Ask them for a local contact point's information if you don't already have that information.  Register yourself as a Business Partner on the samsunglfd.com website.  After that registration has been approved, you can go to the download center and search your model number to find the proper OS.  Then just follow Bill's instructions.

Bill,

Thanks a ton.  I finally got Business Partner access to the download center and am about to reimage my display now.  Thanks so much.

David

Bill,

Thanks for the help.  Actually, for whatever reason, I was unable to use the image provided on the samsunglfd document center - kept getting error about image being corrupt...

I let Samsunglfd support know about this problem, and they promptly sent me a thumb drive with a good image on it.  I've since used your instructions on your MediaFire site to backup your image.

Thanks again.

Hi,

I've been attempting to backup our screen with the SFIM2 software using the commend from Bills Corals text guide:

 C:\>SFIM /b:1 filename.sfi

However its complaining that it cant find a drive to backup.  Can anyone advise how you mount a drive in DOS please.

TIA,

Colin

Colin, I ran into this issue when using a thumb drive to back up an image of a display.  The problem is related to the size of the thumb drive.  The drive must be formatted to FAT and cannot be larger than 2GB.  This complicated things for me since the actual disk space on my monitor is 4GB :(  Hope this helps.
