Title: Error Code 1073
Post by: BigKeith on October 09, 2012, 02:37:57 PM
Hi,
We're very new to digital Signage, so please bear with me. We've just setup our new sytem, which consists of 2 monitors running MagicInfo-i Premium and a server running the server software. I have approved the monitors without too much fuss and have created our first display using the authoring software. The problem is when I go to add content to the server I get error code 1073, and then the upload box appears. If I then select the files for upload and click on "Start Upload" I get a further error, code 1059.
I'm adding the content using a web browser, which I can use to configure everything else.
I'm not sure if this is a configuration problem, permissions problem, or something else. Has anyone seen these errors before.

Many thanks

Keith

Thanks for the input, but our problem was slightly different. We use a proxy server for our internet access, which is configured in the browser. I had to remove this in order to get around the problem.

Thanks again.

Hello Keith, I have the same error code issue when I upload contents. We are using IE8, 32 bit and we have the Magicinfo server running on VM WIndows 2008 R2. We use an Internet proxy. we verified that ports 54321, 5902 & 7001 are open for TCP traffice on the server.  I appreciate if you would share what changes you made to fix this issue. Thanks..

Hi Sambebawi,
We use Smoothwall for monitoring our web traffic, so we have to add that smoothwall server as a proxie server in the browser in order to gain access to the internet. This is done by default when we build a PC/Server, so it wasn't that obvious.
In order to get this working I had to remove the proxie server from the browser, which isn't a problem as that server doesn't need to access the internet. There will be a way to allow the machine to use the proxie server, but the easiest thing for me was just to remove it. If we need RSS feeds or some external data in future then I will have to come back to this and fix the issue with smoothwall, but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Hope this is helpful

Keith

Thanks Keith, we had solved the problem. The brwoser setting was forcing the "upload contents" Java code to go to the internet proxy to upload the infomration, irrespective of the option selected in the "content uploader' menu as it assumed that the URL is for an external web site. The error message was not very informative. But your contribution has assisted us to solve this. Thanks
