MagicInfo / PRTG Monitoring Powershell Script
« Last post by limpleg on August 05, 2025, 02:15:07 PM »
Hi Community
i wrote some powershell scripts for monitoring MagicInfo (Version 8 but i guess they work on Version 9 as well) on Paessler PRTG Monitoring Server.
The Powershell scripts connect to the API on MagicInfo.

You can find them here
https://github.com/limpleg/PRTG-SamsungMagicInfo-Powershells

What i note is, that when i monitor a lot of device through the API in a 10 minute interval, after 2 days the MagicInfo Server Web Service stopped working. Any advice on this?
Is there a Logout method of the API Key or something like that? In Swagger, i didn't find any information about that...

MagicInfo / Video Thumbnails Not Displaying
« Last post by BFL_Tom on May 26, 2025, 05:11:10 AM »
Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue within our MagicInfo9 setup where the thumbnails for our video content are not displaying correctly. Instead of a preview image, I'm seeing either a blank space, a generic icon, or sometimes a broken image icon.

MagicInfo / MI9 Device Health Error SH90801 [Contents Download] Internal Server Error
« Last post by BFL_Tom on May 23, 2025, 04:30:54 AM »
Hi everyone,

I'm encountering an error within the Device Health section of MagicInfo9 and was hoping someone might have some insight. The error message I'm seeing is:

Quote
SH90801 [Contents Download] Internal Server Error

Has anyone else experienced this before? Does anyone know what might be causing this "Internal Server Error" specifically in the context of content downloads?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

MagicInfo-I Premium / all pptx. not showing in content list in MagicInfo Server
« Last post by CaptainKernel on April 21, 2025, 11:16:33 AM »
Hi All, I'm having a weird issue, seem that its not faced anywhere else from my search.

We used to be able to upload and see pptx items in the content list. Only recently early 2025, all pptx are not showing.
I suspect there was a cleanup done on the Windows Server side that affected the MagicInfo.
Thing is after scouring through Server from Windows Server side, I am able to see from the content folder (C:\MagicInfo Premium\runtime\upload\contents_home) pptx all is there,
some shows pptx.sfi tho, not sure what it means.

Only MagicInfo Server from browser side are unable to view or see them
Vendor/Supplier have closed down, no where else to look for help. hehh.

Any new PPTX upload will be successful but not show in the Content List after.
Do let me know where else can I check.

Instincts tell me to re-install but,i need to know the impact and also how quick it is.

What I've done:
Install pptx viewer 2007 and set it as default app, doesnt work.

I got 50+ Display
using MagicInfo Server 6

MAGICINFO Path = C:\MagicInfo Premium\
Lite Version : MagicInfo Server V6.0 Build NA-MIILS-6002.0
Premium Version : MagicInfo Server V6.0 Build NA-MIIPS-6002.0
MagicInfoPremium service is running.
UltraVNC Repeater service is running.

MagicInfo / Re: MagicInfo 9 - Web URL content with https (QMR display)

On the same network, can you attach a device and navigate to the site using a local browser?...  Assuming that works, likely you need proxy authentication to allow HTTP traffic to your signage panel. Check out the panel's proxy settings...  I'll often add my own credentials just to test sites like this. Long term, you'd likely want to have an account created that allows HTTP traffic through your firewall for your fleet of devices.

As an alternative to deploying anything, test the web app using the browser source instead. The browser source uses the same web engine as the MagicInfo-Lite/S source. It makes local testing faster instead of taking a deployment path. Hope this helps!

MagicInfo / Re: MagicInfro Add domain User Problem

Anyone facing this issue ... here's the solution !

Edit the text file c:\MagicInfo Premium\conf\config.properties (may work for other versions of MagicInfo, I don't know)
Find the line :
Quote
#ldap.user.attribute.id = id
change it to (don't forget to uncomment the line)
Quote
ldap.user.attribute.id = sAMAccountName
Restart the MagicInfo service, sync your users (delete them if you had them already imported, otherwise it won't work) and voila, you can now login with your AD credentials :)
