Can't find basic setup info
« on: February 14, 2012, 09:12:56 PM »
I am looking for the very basics of MagicInfo.  I want to get two displays and control them from my PC.

I think I might just be trying to make this more difficult than it needs to be. My confusion comes from the idea that I have to install an add-on module that has windows XP embedded.

But I also think that I may not need that.

Do I understand correctly that I just need two TVs, like the ME46A and Samsung MagicInfo-i Premium Server?

Connect the two TV's and the PC to a switch?  I understand that I have to configure the software and learn how to use it. But are these three things all I need to purchase?

Thanks very much for your help.

Hello,
with your solution MagicInfo, you must install:
Magicinfo i client, on displays
Magicinfo i author and magicinfo i scheduler on a pc creator
magicinfo i server on a pc server....

for two displays I suggest you also magicinfo pro
you have: magicinfo pro client on displays,
magicinfo server on pc of creation. it's most simple to manage.

If you don't have a router with a dhcp but just a switch or hub, you must entry all IP on your pc and displays
you don't need add-on module on your displays or pc, just install ppt, xls and doc viewer and avi codec on displays
Your's ME46A are correct but you must buy players like Q32AX4 with them
there is an english tutoriel to learn how configure and use magicinfo pro
i hope to have help you
have a nice day,
Sébastien

The Samsung LED Displays have the MagicInfoLite within their firmware. Unlike MagicInfo Pro and MagicInfo I Premium, MagicInfoLite does not run on Operating System, but only within the ME, DE and UE firmware.

Sebastien is correct in saying that these devices will play media content such as PPTX, WMV, AVI, JPG etc media files, but only in a Full Screen format.

To get MagicInfo Pro or MagicInfo I Premium installed you need the SBB-A unit from Samsung for all the LED screens including their UD55 and UD46 Video Wall products.

The SBB-A is based on Windows Embedded OS and the MIP and MII clients run on that.
