I am a "newcomer" and have tried to set up a client for the first time on a brand new 400MXN-2.

Before I stared I have checked the guide at http://www.magicinfopro.com/guide_to_using_magicinfo_pro.htm and found out that the "Startup" option is missing "program" options as displayed on page 23.

What can I do?

From my understanding the guide you are looking at is old because the newer versions of the software do not need those options. Those options would be where you would have changed the player into schedule mode or other modes. But run is the only mode needed now.
