Video Format Help
« on: April 23, 2010, 08:21:01 PM »
Hey,

This is my first time working with Magicinfo. I'm trying to find out the proper video formats, bit rates, duration, and files sizes to publish my videos. I'm having the hardest time finding this information.

Our set up has 18 monitors (3x6 vertical). My current video file is 1080w x 1440h. Please help before all my hair falls out!

Wow this is a big installation! There is no reason as to why your video shouldn't play. have you loaded the appropriate codecs? Do the screenms communicate with the server/scheduler and if that is the case, how do you create and configure the video wall?

OK, some more details are needed. What screens to do you have? For video walls I use 1024 x 768 and in your case it will be 768 x 1024 (although it is not great, I know it works). I have a 3 x 3 UXn (46" Units) that we use to display media files such as video and photos.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Unfortunately, I won't have an answer on the screen size for sure until Monday (Although I do believe they are either 27" or 32" HD displays).

What codecs are you talking about? I've used wmv, flv, and tried mpg2 with no great results. The WMV displayed correctly until 1minute in to the video, froze and went back to the beginning.

Are there some resources online about the video specs this system takes?

Thanks,

Andy
