MagicInfo 9 Server
« on: April 28, 2022, 01:17:17 AM »
Hello :-)

I am a newbie to this technology, however, we have about 10 Samsung displays on our shop floor, and we're getting tired of walking around to each of the to change out the usb drive with a presentation.  Clearly there's a better way to manage content on a number of displays.

I am trying to install the MagicInfo 9 server on MS Server 2016, with MS SQL Express.  I have the DB set up, but when I try to install the Magic 9 Server, I get stuck at "can't find MSSQL db".

I followed these instructions:  http://displaysolutions.samsung.com/docs/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=2064870

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello JohnBallard, there are 3 possibilities
1. MIS V9 does not work with MS SQL Express, when you try to install it will check dame of the DB and will detect that it is MSSQL Express and not Server
2. MSSQL you have to set up port 1433 port and network adapter to get access to it.
3. MIS V9 need user and password to access the DB. We can provide a remote assistance service for you.

Regards,
