Autorun as Non-Default User
« on: June 13, 2011, 09:36:35 PM »
Hi,

We've just gotten one of these, and after doing a quick peek over the user guide. I'm missing something. I've opted to create a new user beyond the default admin user to 'auto login' as. This works great. However, I can't seem to find out what the toggle or command line is to make the 'display' autorun as it does under "Administrator" any light that can be shed on how to do this would be great. Thanks in advance to the community.

Hello,

I'm also trying to run the MagicInfo Pro server under a user account other than the Windows administrator account. The program will run but without seeing any displays. Have you gotten any feedback Eric yet? Interested in how you solved this.

hello guys

I know the issue you are on about i only run my screens with the admin user login  but his is how i set them up

•   The embedded XP on the screen must be setup with only an administrator login
•   In order to get the embedded xp to login automatically certain settings need to be added to the regedit
(please see below those in red do not apply to us)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\DefaultUserName to someUser; HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\DefaultPassword to somePassword; HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\DefaultDomainName to someDomain; HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\AutoAdminLogon to 1 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\CachePrimaryDomain to someDomain

hope this helps !

To select which user will auto login go to Start->Run->control userpasswords2->Enter from there it is self explanatory. As far as software not seeing displays when logged as that other user I would try deinstalling it an then reinstalling it as that new user.
