Upgrade HDD

Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the drive in a MXN-2 LFD?
I assume these are SSD drives. If not can the os be installed on a external drive?

The MXN-2 displays have a 4GB FDM based on an IDE controller. You can get those from the Internet on a free market. Just google 'ide fdm' and you will get plenty!
