Windows 7 Server (VM) is not picking up a network screen
« on: March 25, 2011, 11:18:54 AM »
Hello

I was hoping someone can help me.

We've just had to transfer our MagicInfo Pro server from a XP box to W7 VM on an iMac using VMWare. We've bridged the network connection and it's been assigned the static IP that the old XP box had (and it's picking it up after a renew/refresh). We set the settings identically to what they were on the XP box but it isn't finding the network screen (we only have, at the moment, the one screen).

The Server Setup (under Options) has the Network Device selected and the Direct Connection Using IP also selected. Last time I did this the screen appeared straight away. Any suggestions? Is there any way to tell the MIP server software to hunt for a screen with a certain IP address?

We've got to connect to it ASAP to change the screen.

Server is running 2507 which was the version that was on XP.

Many, many thanks for any help.

It works now. A couple more restarts of the client helped and the server eventually picked it up. Feel stupid, but at least it's working.  ;D
